1932 Stan Laurel & Oliver Hardy Signed Photograph
Starting Bid - $200.00, Sold For - $812.00
Two signed photographs: 1) Black-and-white publicity photo (8 x 10 inches) of Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy, signed in black ink by both members of the famed comedy duo. The signatures have been scripted vertically along the left border. Laurel has preceded his signature with a printed personalization (as was his custom) that reads "With our sincere good wishes always - Sam!" He has also added the date, "1932," below his name. Both signatures are strong, with Hardy's signature grading "9/10," and Laurel's grading "8." Laurel and Hardy are often recognized as the greatest comedy team in the history of the silver screen, having appeared in nearly seventy shorts and twenty-one feature films between the years 1926 and 1951. Following their film career, the pair also appeared together during a number of highly successful overseas tours. Hardy passed away in 1957 and Laurel in 1965. The photo has a tack hole in each corner, a few minor creases, and a two-inch vertical tear at the top border (touching upon Stan's hat) that has been repaired on the reverse with clear tape. Good to Very Good condition overall. 2) Also included is a 5 x 7-inch black-and-white signed photo of Oliver Hardy. The photo (Ex) captures Hardy in formal attire and is inscribed "Yours - Oliver Hardy" in black ink ("7"). LOA from Steve Grad & John Reznikoff/PSA DNA. Reserve $200. Estimate $400/$600.
