Circa 1959 William Shatner Inscribed Photograph
Starting Bid - $200.00, Sold For - $290.00
Circa 1959 MGM publicity photo (8 x 10 inches) signed by William Shatner. Dating a full seven years prior to the launch of Star Trek and his signature role as James T. Kirk, the offered black-and-white official promotional photograph is one of the few remnants of the earliest days of his career. The photograph has been inscribed "To Albert, best wishes - William Shatner" in black fountain pen. Both the inscription and signature contrast strongly against the light background ("8"). The ink notation "10-5-59" appears on the reverse. Shatner, who was twenty-seven years old at the time of this photo, had just completed filming The Brothers Karamazov for MGM. This is undoubtedly one of the earliest signed William Shatner photos in existence, penned years before he became a household name and took his lasting place in the collective consciousness of popular culture. Excellent to Mint condition. LOA from Steve Grad/PSA DNA. Reserve $200. Estimate $400/$600. SOLD FOR $290.00
