1880 to 1910 Tobacco Premium Collection (206)
Starting Bid - $300.00, Sold For - $696.00
An interesting and very eclectic collection of 206 late nineteenth and early twentieth-century tobacco premiums, featuring a wide array of sizes and types of tobacco "N" cards (44), silks (80), leathers (25), felts (52), T-cards (3), and album pages (2). Twenty-five different issues are represented. Many popular themes highlight this collection including American Indians (14 silks), actresses, state and country flags (including large S81 size), boxing (three T9s including #57 Nelson, 70 McGovern, 71 Hurley), military and college series, and others. Over 80% of the collection is in Excellent to Near Mint condition (20% slightly lesser) with twenty-four silk rugs in their original wrapper-envelopes exactly as packaged by the tobacco company in tobacco packs in 1910. The three T9s Boxers grade Vg-Ex due to light, even corner wear. Colorful, scarce, and beautifully lithographed, this is a very interesting and unusual collection of quality tobacco premiums from many different sets. Total 206 items. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000. SOLD FOR $696.00
