1954 Topps "Scoop" Original Card Artwork #54

1954 Topps "Scoop" original watercolor (5 x 3.5 inches) used to produce card #54, entitled "Stock Market Crashes-October 29, 1929," from this classic set which chronicles famous events throughout American history. The "newspaper headline" on the back of the issued card boldly announces "Stocks Crash." The artwork features the pandemonium on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange on the day of the crash. This is one of the most exciting and detailed artworks in the entire "Scoop" set. The artwork, which includes additional image area which was cropped out by Topps on the issued card, is bright, crisp, clean, and very colorful. "Scoop" artworks are extremely rare. This example and the other three "Scoop" artworks presented in this auction are the first original paintings from this extremely popular early 1950s set we have ever offered.
