1909 T204 Ramly Collection (16)

Starting Bid - $500.00, Sold For - $2,900.00

Collection of sixteen different T204 Ramlys highlighted by Hall of Famers Frank Chance and Miller Huggins. One of the most elegantly designed card issues ever produced, T204 Ramlys are noted for the distinctive fancy gold-embossed borders that surround the oval photographic portraits. They are much rarer than most other tobacco card issues from the 1910 era. The collection is comprised of the following: Frank Chance (HOF, possible extremely slight trim, minor touches of paper loss on back from album removal, Nr/Mt appearance on front), Lou Criger (Ex to Ex-Mt front, minor paper loss on back), Mike Donlin (Ex front, tiny paper loss on back), Kid Elberfield (Ex), Bob Ewing (Vg-Ex), Dick Hoblitzel (Ex front, paper loss on back), Harry Howell (Vg with paper loss on back), Miller Huggins (HOF, possible extremely slight trim and minor touches of paper loss on back, Nr/Mt appearance on front), Ed Kargar (Ex front, paper loss on back), Harry Lord (Ex front, paper loss on back), Johnny Lush (Ex-Mt front, paper loss on back), Jimmy McAleer (Gd-Vg front, scrapbook paper remnants on back), Amby McConnell (Vg), Larry McLean (possible very slight trim otherwise Vg-Ex/Ex), Barney Pelty (Ex-Mt front, paper loss on back), Wildfire Schulte (Vg-Ex/Ex). The Chance and Huggins were both rejected for grading by PSA, though we believe it is very possible that these cards were actually long ago handcut from sheets rather than trimmed. This is a very attractive group of these extremely rare and desirable tobacco cards including Hall of Famers Frank Chance and Miller Huggins. Total 16 cards. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$2,000. SOLD FOR $2,900.00
