1910 E125 American Caramel Die-cuts Collection (4)
Starting Bid - $1,000.00, Sold For - $15,080.00
Collection of four E125 American Caramel Die-cuts, including a representation of each team series issued (Pirates, Giants, Boston, and Phila A's), as follows: Jack Barry, A's (tiny wrist and elbow crease, otherwise Ex-Mt), Bill Carrigan, Bost. (Ex-Mt), Art Devlin, N.Y. (Ex-Mt), and Tommy Leach, Pitts. (appears Ex, but technically Gd-Vg due to several tiny chips of paper loss along the bottom). Issued by the American Caramel Co. circa 1910, this set of die-cuts is so rare that it was not even known to exist until the 1960s. They were issued one card per box of caramels, and vary slightly in size from card to card, depending on the player's pose. The cards are designed with small moving parts, which fold back to allow players to stand. Most are approximately 7 inches high and 4 inches wide. This is an exceptional group of these almost never seen early candy cards, which are held in the highest esteem by advanced collectors for their extreme rarity as well as for their very striking and unique design. Total 4 cards. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000/$4,000. SOLD FOR $15,080.00
