1910 T210 Old Mill Tobacco PSA Collection (32)
Starting Bid - $1,000.00, Sold For - $2,610.00
Collection of thirty-two different 1910 T210 Old Mill Tobacco cards. Twenty-six cards are graded by PSA; six are not graded. The cards in this collection have been selected for auction by the consignor specifically to complement the collection of 297 different T210s offered by a different consignor in a preceding lot. Each of the thirty-two cards in this lot are not represented in the collection of 297 cards, thus the two lots together include no duplicates and represent a total of 329 different cards. Twenty-one cards are from "Series 1"; the remaining eleven cards are from later series (six cards from "Series 3," two from "Series 5," and three from the extremely rare "Series 8"). The thirty-two cards in this lot are from the very same collection as the T210 Joe Jackson in REA's last auction, originating from an estate sale in the Baltimore area in the 1980s. These cards have been consigned directly from the original buyer at that sale, who purchased the entire collection at that time. The T210 set is comprised of eight different series, each representing a different minor league. The first series features players from the South Atlantic League. Series 1: Becker (Gd), Bensen (VG-EX 4), Bremmerhof (VG-EX 4), Fox (VG-EX 4), Hartley (GOOD 2), Hille (VG 3), Howard (VG 3), Ison (VG-EX 4), Krebs (VG-EX 4), Martin (wave to top border, otherwise Gd), McLeod (VG 3), McMahon (Fr), Mulldowney (VG-EX 4), Pierce (VG-EX 4), Radebaugh (VG-EX 4), Raynolds (VG 3), Reagan (VG-EX 4), Reynolds (VG-EX 4), Schulz (VG-EX 4), Sweeney (VG 3), Toren (VG-EX 4). Series 3: Dale (VG-EX 4), Deardorff (VG 3), Gear (VG 3), Robertson (VG-EX 4), Spangler (VG-EX 4), Weber (VG-EX 4). Series 5: Dobard (VG 3) and Guss (VG-EX 4). Series 8: McTigue, Ower, and Patterson (all three Series 8 cards have a very slightly irregular cut, possibly done by hand, as is often seen with T210s, and are otherwise Vg). As is often the case with these condition-sensitive cards, there is some wear to the red borders, mostly in the corners. The red borders make collecting the set in high-grade particularly challenging. This is a very attractive group of cards in very high grade for this condition-sensitive issue, and which matches perfectly with the larger collection of T210 Old Mill cards offered separately in this auction. Total 32 cards. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000/$3,000. SOLD FOR $2,610.00
