1914 T222 Fatima Individual Player Hall of Famers (2)
Starting Bid - $200.00, Sold For - $1,508.00
Pair of Hall of Famers from the T222 Fatima individual player card set issued by the Liggett & Myers Tobacco Company in 1914: Roger Bresnahan and Rube Marquard. Each has been graded GOOD 30 by SGC. The thin photographic stock and fragile glossy surface of these unusual real-photo style cards make them especially susceptible to minor surface creases. The individual player Fatima cards are much scarcer than the T200 Fatima team cards. These cards have been graded very harshly, as is the standard for T222s. This is a very bright, clean, attractive pair, downgraded to account for the extremely minor technical flaws which are so common to the issue. Both cards appear Excellent from the front, and have been downgraded due to the lightest hint of surface abrasions on the backs from long ago being mounted in a scrapbook and carefully removed. No creases. While this pair is technically in mid-grade, both clearly display far better than suggested by their assigned grades. Two very attractive examples of these distinctive tobacco cards, which advanced collectors recognize are far rarer than their more widely collected tobacco card cousins, such as T205 and T206. Total 2 cards. Reserve $200. Estimate $400/$600. SOLD FOR $1,508.00
