1921 Koester Bread N.Y. Yankees PSA Collection (5)

Starting Bid - $400.00, Sold For - $2,320.00

Collection of five 1921 Koester Bread cards featuring N.Y. Yankee players, all encapsulated and graded GOOD 2 by PSA: Frank Baker (HOF), Rip Collins, Harry Harper, R. Meusel, and Tom Rogers. The 1921 World Series between the Yankees and Giants was the first New York "subway series." The Koester Bread set was issued to commemorate the series, and features the players, managers, and coaches of each team. They were distributed in October 1921 by E. H. Koester, a New York bakery. Cards from this unique regional issue are very similar to blank-backed versions of the E121 American Caramel series cards, but are printed on higher quality, thicker stock. Several of the players in this issue do not appear in the American Caramel sets. Each of these cards has an Excellent or better appearance from the front. These cards have been downgraded due to paper remnants and minor paper loss at the top of the reverse, from being mounted into a scrapbook (probably provided by Koester Bread for this very purpose) and later removed. Total 5 cards. Reserve $400. Estimate $800/$1,200. SOLD FOR $2,320.00
