1939 Play Ball #92 Ted Williams PSA NM-MT 8
Starting Bid - $2,000.00, Sold For - $5,800.00
Graded NM-MT 8 by PSA. Extremely crisp, super high grade example of this classic card featuring Ted Williams in his rookie season. The card displays four razor-sharp corners, snow white borders, virtually perfect centering, and a crystal clear image featuring the "Splendid Splinter" in his familiar swing-thru pose. The reverse of the card is clean and boldly printed with two very tiny spots (possibly natural to the paper stock and mentioned strictly for the sake of accuracy). It is fascinating to note that the text on the back of this rookie card reports that Ted "has a great future according to experts." One of the key cards from the 1939 Play Ball set and one of the most popular cards of the era. SMR value in assigned grade is $6,000. Reserve $2,000. Estimate $4,000/$6,000. SOLD FOR $5,800.00
