1947 to 1952 Hall of Famer Card Collection (7)
Starting Bid - $500.00, Sold For - $2,900.00
Collection of seven key Hall of Famers from four different issues dating from 1947 to 1952: 1) 1947 Tip Top Bread: Larry Berra (PSA EX 5). This is Berra's true rookie card and one of the key cards in this unusual regional food issue. This is a very sharp-looking card. 2) 1948 Bowman (3 cards): #4 Johnny Mize (SGC EX/NM 80), 18 Warren Spahn rookie (SGC EX+ 70), 36 Stan Musial rookie (SGC VG 40). 3) 1949 Bowman (2 cards): #224 Satchell Paige (PSA VG-EX 4. Bright and clean, with flawless registration, centered very slightly to the bottom border. This is a beautiful card bordering on Ex); and #233 Larry Doby (PSA NM-MT 8. Sharp, clean, and crisp card with perfect registration, and centered slightly towards the lower left border). 4) 1952 Star-Cal Decals Type 1: #79G Jackie Robinson (with touch of paper loss in the upper left corner on the reverse of wrapper, probably from long-ago removal of store price sticker, otherwise in Vg-Ex condition). Total 7 cards. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$1,500. SOLD FOR $2,900.00
