One-page typewritten letter (8.25 x 10.75 inches) by George Kelly (1895-1984), dated "June 12, 1926" on official "New York Base Ball Club" stationery. The letter is addressed to the Hillerich & Bradsby Co. and reads in full: "Gentlemen:- My record as a home run hitter was made with the Louisville Slugger. I like your bats. They feel right, and a fellow has confidence that they will deliver the goods. Many thanks for your care in filling my orders through the New York National League Club. Yours very truly, [signed in black fountain pen] George L. Kelly" ("9"). This is a fascinating and early letter regarding Kelly's endorsement of Louisville Slugger bats. The letter has normal horizontal mailing folds and a staple hole in the upper left corner, but is otherwise in Ex-Mt condition. Accompanied with a letter of provenance from the Hillerich & Bradsby Co., signed by President & CEO John A. Hillerich IV. LOAs from James Spence/JSA and Steve Grad, Mike Gutierrez & Zach Rullo/PSA DNA. Reserve $200. Estimate $400/$600. SOLD FOR $812.00
