Circa 1925 Babe Ruth Single-Signed Baseball

Starting Bid - $2,000.00, Sold For - $11,020.00

Presented is an exceptionally attractive red-and-green stitched Goldsmith brand "American League Ball" signed by Babe Ruth across the sweet spot. Ruth's vintage blue fountain pen signature grades "6" and contrasts beautifully against the light surface background. The fact that Ruth has added quotation marks around "Babe" in his signature dates this ball with certainty to the early-to-mid 1920s, as Ruth discontinued that practice sometime around 1926. This is a particularly attractive style ball and all of the manufacturer's stampings remain remarkably bold and distinct. The ball has very light toning and is in overall Excellent condition. The demand for Ruth single-signed baseballs continues to be one of the great stories of our hobby and fully attests to Ruth's status as the greatest sports idol in American history. This is an outstanding example of that most coveted relic. LOAs from James Spence/JSA and Steve Grad, Mike Gutierrez & Zach Rullo/PSA DNA. Reserve $2,000. Estimate $4,000/$8,000.
