Circa 1945 Babe Ruth Single-Signed Baseball

Starting Bid - $2,500.00, Sold For - $13,920.00

Official Pacific Coast League (Rowland) baseball signed by Babe Ruth in black fountain pen across the sweet spot. Ruth's signature is centered perfectly across the sweet spot and grades a very strong "7." The very dark black ink of the signature contrasts sharply and makes this single-signed ball particularly ideal for display. This ball can be dated to the mid-1940s with certainty, as Clarence "Pants" Rowland, whose name is stamped on the side panel, served as President of the PCL from 1944 to 1954. Ruth, of course, died in 1948. All of the manufacturer's stampings are light, but clearly legible. Excellent to Mint condition. This is a simply outstanding example of the most desirable single-signed baseball in the hobby. LOAs from James Spence/JSA and Steve Grad, Mike Gutierrez & Zach Rullo/PSA DNA. Reserve $2,500. Estimate $5,000/$10,000. SOLD FOR $13,920.00
