1961 New York Yankees Cut Signature Framed Display With Mantle and Maris

Starting Bid - $500.00, Sold For - $2,900.00

Large and impressive framed display featuring the cut signatures of forty-two members of one of the most legendary ball clubs in history: the 1961 New York Yankees. The attractive design of the piece features a "pinstripe" matting and includes both a team photo (14 x 8 inches) of the 1961 World Champions and a 1961 Yankees program. The signatures of two of the players, Elston Howard and Whitey Ford, are represented by signed Topps baseball cards in lieu of cuts. The remaining forty signature examples displayed herein are as follows: Maris ("10"), Berra, Moses, Daley, James, Gonder, Gardner, Lopez, Murray, Tresh, Sheldon, Arroyo, Duren, Downing, Reniff, Cerv, Torgeson, Boyer, Richardson, Crosetti, Houk, Blanchard, Stafford, Turley, Reed, Kubek, Skowron, Hegan, Sain, Hale, DeMaestri, Coates, Clevenger, Terry, Ditmar, McDevitt, Prudenti (bat boy), Thomas, Johnson, and Mantle ("10"). Please note: the Mantle in the display is not authentic, but the display is accompanied by a second Mantle which is authentic, on an 8 x 11.5-inch sheet with an article printed, flawlessly signed in black ink. All of the signatures have been penned in either blue or black ink with the exception of Gardner (green ink) and range in grade from "8" to "10," averaging "9/10." Each of the components comprising this piece (cuts, photo, program and baseball cards) is in Excellent to Mint condition. This is a remarkably complete 1961 Yankees signed display piece, with extraordinary visual appeal, ideal for prominent home or office display as intended. Dimensions: 33 x 41.5 inches. LOAs from James Spence/JSA and Steve Grad, Mike Gutierrez & Zach Rullo/PSA DNA. Due to the dimensions of this piece, the shipping charges (depending on exactly where they are sent and method of shipping) may be substantial. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000+. SOLD FOR $2,900.00
