Circa 1900 "Home Baseball Game"

This beautiful turn-of-the-century baseball board game is distinguished by its exquisite cover design. Manufactured by McLoughlin Bros., the preeminent baseball game manufacturer of the era, the bold graphics feature a large illustration of a batter and catcher surrounded by small silouhettes of ballplayers in action. The interior game board, made to resemble a diamond, is actually the bottom of the box and is framed on all sides by sturdy wood construction. All of the original game pieces are present with the exception of the spinner. Both the lid and interior design retain their original bold, vibrant colors. This game is spectacular for display and would be a significant addition to many different types of collections. The box is in Very Good to Excellent condition, extremely bright and clean, and is extremely impressive. The interior game board has been well protected within the confines of the box and is in Near Mint condition. Dimensions: 14 x 15 inches x 1 inch. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$2,000.
