Circa 1910 Baseball Advertising Bottle

Starting Bid - $100.00, Sold For - $696.00

Decorative retail bottle features an appliqu├ęd stained-glass front encouraging patrons to "Drink Speed Ball." The attractive design, in red, yellow and black, features the image of a baseball and includes the price of the libation (five cents). The original gold-colored metal stopper sits atop the neck. The bottle stands twelve inches in height, with a base diameter of 3.25 inches. There are a few cracks to the stained-glass surface which do not significantly detract from its otherwise overall Excellent appearance. This bottle very likely long ago sat on the counter of a soda fountain or perhaps a saloon, undated but very likely circa 1910. Elaborate and very high-quality construction. We've never seen this rare baseball-related bottle before. Reserve $100. Estimate $200/$300. SOLD FOR $696.00
