1888 N172 Old Judge Dummy Hoy
Starting Bid - $1,500.00, Sold For - $4,640.00
Graded NM 84 by SGC. Absolutely stunning super high-grade N172 Old Judge of Dummy Hoy (throwing pose). This card is a gem with outstanding photo quality, superb clarity, and a flawless surface. Perfectly fresh, crisp, and clean, both front and back. Centered very slightly to the right (70/30 L/R). It is rare to find any Old Judge in such pristine condition, let alone of such an historically important player. Hoy was the second deaf baseball player in the Major Leagues, after Ed Dundon of the American Association, and is credited with developing the hand signals used by the umpires in the game to this day. This is an extremely strong Old Judge of Dummy Hoy in Near Mint condition. Reserve $1,500. Estimate $3,000/$5,000. SOLD FOR $4,640.00
