1988 Willie Randolph and 1996 Jeff Bagwell Knit Jerseys (2)

Starting Bid - $200.00, Sold For - $1,175.00

Offered here are two modern day jerseys: The first is a 1988 Dodgers home jersey issued for use by second baseman Willie Randolph. The white knit jersey is lettered "Dodgers" across the front and features the number "12" on the left breast and reverse. "Randolph" is lettered on the reverse above the number. All front letters are appliquéd in blue knit twill. All reverse letters are appliquéd in blue knit twill on white tackle twill. The front numerals are appliquéd in red twill. A "Rawlings 44" label is situated in the collar, adjacent to which is a flag tag that reads "Set 1 1988." Randolph has signed the jersey in blue Sharpie (grading "9/10") in the collar. Although this jersey is tagged for 1988, it was issued to and worn by Randolph the following season, as he did not join the Dodgers until 1989. The jersey is completely original, with no alterations, and displays light wear. Graded A5 by MEARS (all post-1987 jerseys begin with a base grade of 5 and can only gain points with further provenance). The second jersey is a 1996 Houston Astros alternate jersey (used at home and on the road) worn by Jeff Bagwell. The black knit jersey is lettered "Astros" across the front and features the number "5" on the reverse. "Bagwell" is lettered on the reverse above the number. All letters and numerals are appliquéd in triple tackle twill (white/black/white on front, white/black/gold on reverse). A Houston Astros 35th Anniversary patch appears on the left sleeve. The jersey is completely original, with no alterations, and displays light wear. Graded A5 by MEARS. From the Barry Halper Collection. LOAs from Dave Bushing & Troy Kinunen/MEARS and James Spence/JSA. Reserve $200. Estimate $400/$600. SOLD FOR $1,175.00
