1998 David Wells Signed "Perfect Game" Display

This beautifully constructed shadow-box display commemorates David Wells' perfect game that occurred on May 17, 1998 at Yankee Stadium. The highlight of the display is a 16 x 20-inch color photo of Wells being carried off the field on the shoulders of his teammates that has been signed by Wells and twenty other Yankee players. Wells has inscribed the piece in blue Sharpie to Barry Halper: "To my pal Barry! - Your [sic] the best - God Bless - your friend David Wells - P. G. 5-17-98." The remaining twenty signatures, also scripted in blue Sharpie, are those of Joe Torre, Derek Jeter, Mariano Rivera, Bernie Williams, Andy Pettitte, Mike Stanton, Chuck Knoblach, Joe Girardi, Orlando Hernandez, Paul O'Neill, Darryl Strawberry, Hideki Irabu, Tim Raines, Graeme Lloyd, Ramiro Mendoza, Scott Brosius, Luis Sojo, Jorge Posada, Homer Bush, and Chad Curtis. Mounted below the photo is a David Wells single-signed ball that is inscribed in blue ink, "David Wells - P. G. 5-17-98." Also included in the display is a copy of the scorecard from Wells' perfect game that is inscribed "David Wells - P. G. 5-17-98" in blue Sharpie. A plaque mounted along the base of the display bears the engraved notation "The Perfect Game May 17, 1998/The Perfect Season 125 Wins - 30 Losses/The Perfect Ending - 1998 World Series Champions." All of the items are in Near Mint condition and each of the signatures grades "9/10." Matted and framed to total dimensions of 26 x 36 x 4 inches.
