LeRoy Neiman Limited-Edition Serigraph - Golden Girl

Titled Golden Girl , issued in 1985, serigraph numbered "499/500," signed by Neiman in pencil in the lower right (grading "10"). Edition limited to 605 total impressions (500 numbered impressions, 80 artist's proofs, 15 printer's proofs, and 10 Hors de Commerce). Neiman created this piece to commemorate gymnast Mary Lou Retton's remarkable performance at the 1984 Summer Olympics held in Los Angeles. Retton is the first and only American woman to win a gold medal in gymnastics. Her accomplishments included the All-Around Gold medal in women's gymnastics as well as silver medals for Team and Vault, and bronze medals for Uneven Bars and Floor Exercises. Her five medals were the most won by any athlete at the 1984 Olympics. The serigraph measures 30.5 x 24.25 inches and has been matted to total dimensions of 40 x 34.25 inches.
