1948 Bowman Basketball #32 William Holzman PSA MINT 9

Starting Bid - $500.00, Sold For - $1,645.00

Graded MINT 9 by PSA. One of only five examples that have ever been graded by PSA at this level with none graded higher. Incredible ultra-high grade rookie card of Hall of Famer Red Holzman, one of the key cards from this classic basketball card issue. Bright and crisp, and with perfect registration, this card is a gem, crisp and clean, with four sharp corners, and a perfectly clean reverse with bold, crisp print. The front of the card is almost perfectly centered (approximately 55/45), the reverse is centered approximately 60/40 L/R. Cards from this set are extremely hard to find in this incredibly high grade in part because these cards (like 1949 Bowman baseball) often naturally have soft corners due to the quality of the paper stock on which they are printed. The 1948 Bowman Basketball series is particularly significant as this was the first set ever issued devoted exclusively to basketball. SMR value is $2,000. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$2,000. SOLD FOR $1,645.00
