1992 Michael Jordan Nike Air Jordan Olympic "Dream Team" Sneakers
Starting Bid - $1,000.00, Sold For - $2,115.00
Pair of custom-made Nike Air Jordan basketball sneakers produced exclusively for use by Michael Jordan in the 1992 Summer Olympics. These shoes were made only for Michael Jordan's personal use in the 1992 Summer Olympics and were not available to other players or the public. Each white sneaker (size 13) is trimmed in patriotic red and blue and features Jordan's number "9" on the back of each heel. The shoes display light-to-moderate use and wear, including light soiling and abrasions. Jordan helped lead the fabled "Dream Team" to a gold medal victory at the 1992 Summer Olympics, held in Barcelona, Spain. Jordan was the only player on that legendary roster to start all eight games, and his average of 14.9 points per game was second only to Charles Barkley. Michael Jordan game apparel from the first Olympic Dream Team is extremely rare and these shoes make for an exceptionally desirable collectible in the fields of both Olympic and basketball memorabilia. From the personal collection of renowned Michael Jordan collector James Rubino. LOA from Dave Bushing & Troy Kinunen/MEARS. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000+. SOLD FOR $2,115.00
