1910-1930 National Biscuit Company Advertising Collection (5)
Starting Bid - $500.00, Sold For - $1,292.50
The five National Biscuit Company advertising displays featured in this lot were carefully culled from our consignor's vast collection as particularly exceptional advertising displays noteworthy for both their stunning visual appeal and product diversity. Unless otherwise noted, all of the pieces appear to be dry mounted upon a cardboard backing, display horizontal and vertical fold lines (as issued), and are framed to slightly larger dimensions. All are remarkably bright, clean, and ideal for display. 1) Circa 1910 advertising display for Uneeda Biscuit. This is the quintessential company advertising piece as it features the famed "Uneeda Boy," holding the company's first nationally marketed product: Uneeda Biscuits. The piece (17 x 23.25 inches) exhibits a few small tears along the fold lines as well number of tiny creases that have been effectively ameliorated by the mounting process. In Very Good to Excellent condition. 2) Circa 1910 advertising display for Zu Zu Ginger Snaps. The display features Zu Zu the clown, another of the company's early and very well known trademark images. The piece (17 x 23 inches) does not display any fold lines, but has two small vertical tears extending down from the top border. Both tears have been effectively ameliorated by the mounting process and the display is otherwise in Excellent condition. 3) Circa 1920 advertising display for Uneeda Biscuits picturing the "Uneeda Boy." The piece (14 x 14.75 inches) has a tiny insignificant tear along the intersection of the fold lines and is otherwise in Excellent condition. 4) Circa 1920 advertising display for Bouquet Cake. The advertisement makes special note that the delivery of the cakes to the stores from the baking ovens is by "Special Electric Automobile Service." The poster (13.5 x 20 inches) does not appear to be dry mounted and has a small tear along the intersection of the fold lines. Otherwise in Excellent condition. 5) Circa 1930 advertising display for "Uneeda Bakers" Clowns cookies. The poster (17 x 10.5 inches) has a few tiny tears extending horizontally from the center vertical fold line and is otherwise in Excellent condition.
