Collection of Fifteen Bound National Biscuit Company "Green Books" (1916-1931)
Starting Bid - $500.00, Sold For - $587.50
Each month the National Biscuit Company would distribute a company newsletter, titled "The N. B. C." This publication presented the definitive historical record of the company and industry affairs, related business articles, photos of company events, and illustrations of the advertisements and promotional displays issued that month. As a matter of course, the company annually published bound volumes containing all twelve monthly issues of "The N. B. C.," with those bound volumes commonly referred to in house as "Green Books" due to their green cloth-covered boards. Because of the wealth of company information contained in each "Green Book," today they are considered invaluable reference tools for historians and collectors alike, providing an unparalleled history of the National Biscuit Company. Offered here is a near-complete run of twelve N. B. C. "Green Books" dating from 1916 through 1931, missing only the 1922 volume. All of the volumes (7 x 9.5 inches, varying pages) display moderate wear to the cloth-covered boards (the 1918 volume displays heavy wear) and each is in overall Very Good to Excellent condition. Total 15 volumes. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$1,500. SOLD FOR $587.50
