Ever since its inception in 1886 Coca-Cola has been at the forefront of marketing strategy, placing its name on hundreds of point-of-sale advertising and promotional items for its popular soft-drink line. Offered here is a diverse assortment of such items, ideal for display. Most date from approximately the 1940s through the 1960s, with a few earlier. All of the pieces display wear commensurate with their age and former use and, unless otherwise noted, range in grade from Very Good to Excellent, averaging Vg-Vg/Ex. 1) Metal retail display rack featuring three retractable shelves. Designed to hold "six-pack" cartons of Coca-Cola, as noted in print along the sign at the top. 18 (W) x 14 (D) x 47 (H) inches. 2-4) Three metal coolers. The two larger coolers (18 x 13 x 19 inches and 19 x 10 x 14 inches, respectively) have both been completely refurbished. The third measures 18.5 x 7 x 12 inches. 5) Metal retail display sign reading "Drink Coca-Cola" (40 x 2 x 16 inches). 6) Wooden standup display sign, dual sided, each displaying an identical metal facing that includes a Coca-Cola advertisement and the store hours "Open 2 to 7 p.m." (20 x 16 x 32 inches). 7) Thin metal retail sign featuring a bottle of Coca-Cola and the phrase "Sign of Good Taste" (27.5 x 20 inches). 8) Die-cut cardboard display sign, in two separate pieces (mounted one in front of the other to give a "3-D" look), featuring a woman holding a glass of Coca-Cola (16 x 19). Framed to total dimensions of 18 x 22 inches. 9) Coca-Cola cardboard display sign (37 x 15 inches). Designed as a baseball scoreboard with "Detroit" listed as the home team. The space for the name of the visiting team has been left blank. Heavy tears and abrasions in the upper left corner, otherwise Vg. Framed to total dimensions of 40 x 18 inches. 10) Circular metal display sign (24 inches in diameter). Pictures a bottle of Coke and the words "Coca-Cola." The piece has been refurbished. 11) Retail poster (14.5 x 17 inches) picturing a bottle of Coke and a cheeseburger. Matted and framed to total dimensions of 20.5 x 23 inches. 12) Circa 1910 magazine advertisement featuring a ballpark scene and an illustration of Nap Lajoie, who is also mentioned by name in the copy (10 x 14.5). The piece has been restored. Matted and framed to total dimensions of 15 x 20 inches. 13) Metal bottle carrier (six bottles) with retractable handle (8 x 5.5 x 7 inches). 14) Metal matchbook dispenser complete with twenty-six Coca-Cola matchbooks (1.5 x 2 x 7 inches). 15) Metal shopping-cart bottle holder (two bottles).
