Caption: "It says, 'Circumstances force us to find another home for our boy. Please be kind to Bunny and treat him as your own. God bless you.'" Medium: Ink and wash en grisaille. Image Area: 8.5 x 12 inches. Publication History: Published in the July 2, 1938 issue of The New Yorker . A copy of the published cartoon has been matted below the sketch. Condition: Fine. A formal appraisal in writing by Frederic Taraba (necessary for the settling of the estate) accompanies and lists an appraised value for this work of $5,000.
