1909-1911 T206 White Borders Collection (322)

Starting Bid - $1,500.00, Sold For - $9,987.50

Original-owner collection of 322 assorted T206 White Borders (mostly different but with some duplication) including an impressive thirty-nine Hall of Famers (thirty different and nine duplicates), among them four Ty Cobbs, two Christy Mathewsons, Walter Johnson, and Addie Joss. 15% are Vg, 60% range from Gd to Gd-Vg, 25% range from Pr to Fr. While not a high grade collection, most of these cards are extremely presentable, and overall very consistent in grade, with the vast majority of cards in a relatively narrow range of conditions. The thirty-nine Hall of Famers are graded individually as follows: Beckley (Gd), Bender/no trees (Gd), Bresnahan/port. (Vg), two Bresnahan/bat (Pr-Fr), Chesbro (Fr), two Clarke/bat (both Fr), Cobb/green (Pr), two Cobb/red (both Gd), Cobb/bat on (Pr minus), two Collins/Phil. (both Vg), two Collins/Minn. (both Gd), Evers/port. (Pr), Flick (Pr), two Griffith/port. (both Fr), Huggins/port. (Pr), Johnson/port. (Fr), Joss/port. (Vg), Keeler/port. (Gd-Vg), two Kelley (Gd and Fr), Lajoie/throwing (Pr), Lajoie/throw (Gd-Vg), Marquard/pitch (Fr), Mathewson/port. (Gd-Vg), Mathewson/white cap (Fr-Gd), three McGinnity (Vg, Gd-Vg and Pr), McGraw/finger (Vg), Speaker (Pr-Fr), Waddell/throw (Gd-Vg), Willis/Pitts. (Fr), and Willis/throw (Fr). This is a large collection of circulated T206s, totally unpicked, and with a high concentration of Hall of Famers. Also included, as one might expect, are a few additional better non-Hall of Famer cards such as Kleinow, Bost. (Gd), and Chase/white cap (Gd). T206s perhaps more so than any other vintage issue are extremely popular in all grades. This is an ideal collection to serve as the foundation for the assembly of a low- to medium-grade complete set of T206, the most popular and classic set of the 1910 era. Also included are nine T205 Gold Border commons (5 Vg, 2 Gd, and 2 Fr). Total 331 cards (322 T206 plus 9 T205). Reserve $1,500. Estimate $3,000/$5,000. SOLD FOR $9,987.50
