1909 T204 Ramly Tobacco Bobby Wallace
Starting Bid - $400.00, Sold For - $1,410.00
Graded EX 5 by PSA. Presented is a classic portrait image of Hall of Famer Bobby Wallace from the prized T204 Ramly series. The Ramly series is universally recognized as one of the most desirable of all the tobacco card issues, appreciated by collectors both for its rarity and distinctive style. Bobby Wallace is one of only fifteen Hall of Famers in the Ramly Tobacco set. Well centered with just a slight hint of corner wear (predominantly in the upper left). The portrait is crystal clear. Clean both front and back, and with a boldly printed reverse. This is one of only seven EX 5s graded by PSA to date, with just five examples graded higher in the population report. Wallace's career spanned an incredible twenty-four years (1895-1918). By his final season he was the only still active player who began his Major League career before 1900, and for years had been a living throwback to an earlier era. This is a very attractive example from this beautiful and extremely condition-sensitive set of one of baseball's most durable Hall of Famers. Reserve $400. Estimate $800/$1,200. SOLD FOR $1,410.00
