1909-1911 T206 Southern Leaguer PSA Collection (18)

Starting Bid - $500.00, Sold For - $3,525.00

Collection of eighteen scarce T206 Southern Leaguers (out of the 48 cards which comprise the entire “Southern League” subset), each graded and encapsulated by PSA. Two cards are PSA 5 EX, eight are PSA 4 VG-EX (one of the eight cards is graded VG/EX by SGC), and eight are graded PSA 3 VG.
The collection is comprised of: Bernhard - Nashville (VG-EX 4, Old Mill back), Breitenstein (VG 3), Carey (PSA VG 3), Cranston - Memphis (VG-EX 4), Hooker - Lynchburg (VG-EX 4), Howard - Savannah (VG 3), King - Danville (VG-EX 4, Old Mill back), Lafitte - Macon (VG-EX 4), Lentz (VG 3), McCauley - Portsmouth (EX 5, Old Mill back), Miller – Dallas (VG-EX 4), Molesworth - Birmingham (SGC VG/EX 50), Paige - Charleston (VG 3), Revelle - Richmond (EX 5), Ryan - Roanoke (VG-EX 4, Old Mill back), Smith - Atlanta (VG 3, Old Mill back), Thornton (VG 3), and White – Houston (VG 3). The Southern Leaguers have always been appreciated for their scarcity and as a popular subset to the T206 series. Collectors find it particularly challenging to assemble a complete set. This is a very impressive looking group, with most cards having an appearance superior to their technically accurate assigned grades. The SMR value of ten cards from the group graded EX 5 or VG-EX 4 (not including the eight Vg 3s) is $1,300. Total 18 cards. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$1,500. SOLD FOR $3,525.00
