1912 T202 Hassan Triple Folders PSA NM 7 Collection (6)
Starting Bid - $1,000.00, Sold For - $4,112.50
Collection of six 1912 T202 Hassan Triple Folders in extraordinarily high grade, including one Hall of Famer. This is an outstanding group. Each card has been graded NM 7 by PSA. In the following condition composite, identifying card numbers are referenced from the numbers provided by the Standard Catalog of Baseball Cards checklist. Consists of: #2 Pelty/Wallace (HOF), 24 Egan/Mitchell, 29 Magee/Paskert, 69 Grant/Hoblitzell, 92 Kling/Steinfeldt, and 97 Willett/Stanage. If normal wear and tear is not enough to worry about on cards dating from 1912, because of their unusual design, there is literally a laundry list of additional potential problems for T202s that almost always cause these cards to be graded harshly: centering, miscuts, print specs, "spider" creases, poor registration, a vertical "shadow" line center crease, etc. Each of these T202s is practically a miracle to be offered in this condition. All the cards are crisp, extremely clean both front and back, with flawless color, sharp corners, and no creases. It would be very difficult to find a finer group of T202s. We have found that at auction cards from extremely popular sets with very low populations in the highest grades often sell for far more than SMR, and this is especially the case with classic vintage sets such as the T202 Triple Folders. The SMR value for these five cards in the assigned grades is $3,865. Total 6 cards. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000/$3,000++. SOLD FOR $4,112.50
