1921 Koester Bread SGC-Graded Hall of Fame Collection (3)

Starting Bid - $500.00, Sold For - $1,292.50

Collection of three Hall of Famers from the 1921 Koester Bread set. All three cards have been graded and encapsulated by SGC: 1) Frank Baker (VG/EX 50). Well centered with even wear to the corners. Clean both front and back. 2) Miller Huggins (VG/EX 50). Perfectly clean, both front and back, with outstanding photo quality, even wear to the corners, and centered slightly to the top. 3) John McGraw (EX 60). Perfectly centered, with four square corners showing just a hint of wear, and perfectly clean, both front and back. The 1921 World Series between the Yankees and Giants was the first New York "subway series." The Koester Bread set was issued to commemorate the series, and features the players, managers, and coaches of each team. They were distributed in October 1921 by E. H. Koester, a New York bakery. Cards from this unique regional issue are very similar to blank-backed versions of the E121 American Caramel series cards, but are printed on higher-quality, thicker stock. Several of the players in this issue do not appear in the American Caramel sets. This is a very impressive looking collection of three 1921 Koester Bread Hall of Famers. Total 3 cards. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$1,500. SOLD FOR $1,292.50
