1949 Bowman #226 Duke Snider GAI Gem Mint 9.5

Starting Bid - $2,000.00, Sold For - $4,112.50

Graded Gem Mint 9.5 by GAI. Stunning ultra high-grade example of this classic rookie card of Hall of Famer Duke Snider. This is the highest-graded example ever, and the only 1949 Bowman Duke Snider card to ever receive a grade of GEM MINT by GAI, PSA, or SGC. The card has bold, bright colors, four razor-sharp corners, perfect registration, and a flawless surface. Centered just a hint to the left border (approximately 48/52), this is a card that approaches perfection. Perfectly crisp and clean, both front and back. 1949 Bowman cards typically suffer from a variety of condition problems, including poor print quality and a tendency to have soft corners, which make high-grade examples particularly difficult to find. This is a world-class example, the highest-ever graded by any of the three major grading services, of Duke Snider's rookie card, one of the key classics of all postwar baseball card issues. Reserve $2,000. Estimate $4,000+. SOLD FOR $4,112.50
