1952 Red Man Tobacco #16 Stan Musial PSA NM-MT 8

Starting Bid - $800.00, Sold For - $2,350.00

Graded NM-MT 8 by PSA. One of only five examples graded at this level. Absolutely stunning, remarkably crisp, ultra high-grade example of Stan Musial, one of the key cards from the 1952 Red Man Tobacco set, and one of the most important keys among all Red Man cards, which were issued from 1952 to 1955. Bright, crisp, perfectly clean, with a striking blue background, four razor-sharp corners, and a flawless reverse with bold green printing. Red Man Tobacco cards are far rarer than most 1950s baseball cards. Because of their tabs (which were designed to be cut) and method of issue, they often have condition problems, and are rarely seen in such high grade. Many consider them to be among the most beautiful cards ever issued, and to represent one of the best values of all cards from the era. This is a simply outstanding high-grade example of this striking and unusual Musial card dating from the early 1950s. The SMR value for the assigned grade is $2,500. Reserve $800. Estimate $1,500/$2,500. SOLD FOR $2,350.00
