Signed Limited-Edition Hall of Fame Induction Photo Cards with Mantle, DiMaggio, and Williams (30)

Starting Bid - $300.00, Sold For - $2,350.00

Please Note: There are only three cards in this set postmarked from Cooperstown (Palmer, Morgan, and Jenkins), not four as originally described in the catalog.

Collector's series of thirty different Hall of Fame player photo cards, each signed by the respective player: Mantle, T. Williams, DiMaggio, Mays, Berra, Musial, Koufax, Stargell, Gehringer, Snider, Appling, Mize, Barlick, Mathews, Banks, Yastrzemski, Kiner, Kaline, Palmer, Morgan, Jenkins, Roberts, Boudreau, Schoendienst, B. Robinson, Feller, Irvin, Spahn, Kell, and Bench. Each card (10 x 8 inches) is printed on cardboard stock and features a high-quality photograph of the player on the left side. The right side prominently displays the date of his Hall of Fame induction as well as many of his career statistics. Along the lower margin it is noted that these cards were manufactured in 1989 by TV Sports Mailbag Inc., of Yorktown Heights, N.Y., and were limited in their distribution to only 1,000 for each player. It is our understanding that in later years the company produced additional player cards in larger quantities, but these early cards issued by the company were produced in very limited numbers. This set has been very much overlooked by collectors and, as intended, they provide an extremely attractive signature forum for the many legendary players featured here, twelve of whom are now deceased. They are perfect for framing or album storage as large signed cards. All of the signatures have been penned in blue Sharpie, with the exception of Gehringer (black Sharpie), and grade "10" with the exception of Bench ("6," bleeding). Four of the cards have been postmarked from Cooperstown on the day corresponding to the respective player's Hall of Fame induction date. Near Mint condition overall. These are very substantial and rarely seen. Total: 30 signed cards. LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000. SOLD FOR $2,350.00
