1915 Boston Red Sox World Series Program
Starting Bid - $400.00, Sold For - $1,645.00
1915 World Series program issued at Boston. Strong example of this classic early World Series program, which is especially significant as 1915 marked the first World Series appearance by Babe Ruth. The attractive cover design features individual portrait photos of the respective owners and managers for both Boston and Philadelphia (Joseph Lanin and William Carrigan for Boston and W. F. Baker and Pat Moran for Philadelphia). The interior pages include team photographs of both Boston and Philadelphia, while a different Red Sox team photo appears on the back cover as part of an advertisement for Stag Brand Sweaters. Babe Ruth, of course, is featured in both Red Sox team photos. The program has a single very slight horizontal center crease (which is usually the problem with this particular program) and is neatly scored in pencil (Game 3). In Very Good to Excellent condition. Reserve $400. Estimate $800/$1,200. SOLD FOR $1,645.00
