1921-1966 World Series PSA-Encapsulated Ticket Collection ( 60)

Starting Bid - $1,000.00, Sold For - $4,993.75

Substantial collection of sixty different World Series tickets, all encapsulated by PSA, spanning the years 1921 through 1966. The offered group took years to assemble and represents the majority of our consignor’s comprehensive World Series ticket collection (the balance of the collection is being offered as a separate “non-encapsulated” World Series ticket lot). Among the highlights offered here is a ticket from the 1921 World Series (New York Yankees' first World Series), three from the 1955 World Series (the Dodgers first and only World Championship while in Brooklyn), and four from games in which Mickey Mantle hit a home run. Unless otherwise noted, all of the tickets offered here are stubs. The collection is comprised of the following: 1921 , Game 5 (period ink notations on reverse); 1922 , Game 3, 1929 , Game 3; 1930 (two tickets), Game 1 and Game 5; 1931 (two tickets), Game 2 and Game 3; 1933 , Game 2; 1934 (two tickets), Game 3 and Game 6; 1935 , Game 4; 1936 (two tickets), Game 1 and Game 2; 1937 (two tickets), Game 1 and Game 3 (name written on reverse in black ink); 1938 (two tickets), Game 2 (DiMaggio home run) and Game 4; 1939 (two tickets), Game 2 (date written on front in black ink) and Game 4; 1940 , Game 4; 1942 (two tickets), Game 1 and Game 3; 1943 , Game 1; 1944 (two tickets, St. Louis Browns only World Series), Game 2 (date written on front in blue ink) and Game 3; 1945 , Game 2 (Greenberg home run); 1946 , Game 4; 1948 (two tickets), Game 1 and Game 5; 1949 (two tickets), Game 2 and Game 4 (signed by Duke Snider on the front in blue Sharpie); 1950 , Game 1; 1951 (three tickets), Game 2, Game 4 (full ticket, proof ticket-not valid for entry), and Game 5; 1953 (two tickets), Game 1 and Game 5 (Mantle home run); 1954 (three tickets), Game 1 (Willie Mays’ famous catch), Game 2 (full ticket, proof ticket-not valid for entry), and Game 4; 1955 (three tickets), Game 2, Game 6, and Game 7; 1957 (two tickets), Game 4 and Game 6 (tape repair on front and period ink notations on reverse); 1958 (two tickets), Game 3 and Game 6; 1959 (two tickets), Game 1 and Game 4; 1960 (two tickets), Game 2 (Mantle home run) and Game 3 (Mantle home run); 1962 (two tickets), Game 2 and Game 3; 1963 (three tickets), Game 1, Game 3, and Game 4 (Mantle home run); 1964 , Game 5; 1965 (two tickets), Game 1 and Game 5; 1966 (two tickets), Game 1 and Game 3. Approximately 20% range from Ex-Mt to Nr-Mt condition, and 80% range from Vg to Ex (with one or two tickets slightly lesser than Vg). Approximately 80% of the tickets display clean, sharp tears along the perforated edges, as opposed to the more commonly encountered “rough” edges found on stubs. This is an outstanding collection of high-quality World Series ticket and especially desirable given the fact that all have been individually encapsulated by PSA. Total: 60 tickets. Reserve $1,000. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $4,993.75
