1983-1995 Team-Signed Baseball Collection (117 Balls)

Starting Bid - $2,500.00 , Sold For - $5,875.00

This enormous collection of American League team-signed baseballs spans the years 1983 to 1995 and consists of a remarkable total of 117 different team balls. Incredibly, 3,368 signatures are represented in this collection, making it a treasure trove of 1980s and 1990s baseball autographs. This is by far the single largest group of team-signed balls we have ever offered, or have ever seen offered as a collection. Every single ball represents a different team. There are no duplicates. Among the numerous highlights are three World Championship balls (1991 Twins, 1992 Blue Jays, and 1993 Blue Jays) and six Yankees team balls. All of the balls are Official American League baseballs dating from their respective time period. Approximately forty-five percent of the balls display varying degrees of age toning, otherwise all are in Nr-Mt condition. The vast majority of the balls are penned in blue ink and the signatures range in grade from "6" to "10," averaging "9." Nearly all of the balls feature more than twenty-five signatures and most include the "key" signatures from each respective club. The number in parentheses after each team indicates the number of signatures on that particular team ball. Pennant-winning clubs are noted in italics. 1983 (9 balls): A's (30), Angels (23), Brewers (28), Indians (28), Mariners (29), Rangers (29), Red Sox (28), Royals (30), and Twins (29). 1986 (12 balls): A's (25), Angels (25), Blue Jays (13), Indians (24), Mariners (23), Orioles (27), Rangers (25), Red Sox (26) , Royals (32), Tigers (26), Twins (27), and White Sox (27). 1988 (14 balls) : A's (30) , Angels (29), Blue Jays (33), Brewers (30), Indians (30), Mariners (25), Orioles (34), Rangers (33), Red Sox (29), Royals (32), Tigers (30), Twins (30), White Sox (27), and Yankees (30). 1990 (14 balls): A's (30) , Angels (26), Blue Jays (28), Brewers (32), Indians (30), Mariners (30), Orioles (35), Rangers (31), Red Sox (29), Royals (31), Tigers (31), Twins (31), White Sox (27), and Yankees (32). 1991 (14 balls): A's (28), Angels (25), Blue Jays (31), Brewers (29), Indians (26), Mariners (28), Orioles (28), Rangers (30), Red Sox (31), Royals (32), Tigers (29), Twins (30) , White Sox (26), and Yankees (27). 1992 (14 balls): A's (35), Angels (27), Blue Jays (37, on a World Series ball) , Brewers (25), Indians (28), Mariners (27), Orioles (23), Rangers (25), Red Sox (28), Royals (30), Tigers (29), Twins (32), White Sox (20), and Yankees (30). 1993 (14 balls): A's (30), Angels (27), Blue Jays (33, on a World Series ball) , Brewers (29), Indians (32), Mariners (27), Orioles (28), Rangers (33), Red Sox (31), Royals (30), Tigers (31), Twins (31), White Sox (29), and Yankees (30). 1994 (14 balls): A's (29), Angels (22), Blue Jays (32), Brewers (33), Indians (29), Mariners (24), Orioles (27), Rangers (28), Red Sox (24), Royals (33), Tigers (33), Twins (31), White Sox (21), and Yankees (25). 1995 (12 balls): A's (34), Angels (28), Blue Jays (34), Brewers (28), Mariners (24), Orioles (33), Rangers (27), Red Sox (30), Royals (33), Tigers (29), Twins (31), and White Sox (31). This collection was assembled between the years 1983 and 1995 by an American League visiting players clubhouse attendant. It would be hard to calculate how much time and effort has been invested in assembling the collection. These would cost a small fortune if purchased individually. This lot presents an interesting and possibly unique opportunity for a collector or dealer. LOA from James Spence/JSA. Total: 117 team balls. Reserve $2,500. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $5,875.00
