Roger Maris Single-Signed Baseball
Starting Bid - $500.00 , Sold For - $4,406.25
Official American League (MacPhail) ball signed in blue ink (grading “9”) across the sweet spot by Roger Maris. This ball was signed by Maris at a very well documented private signing at Maris' home in 1984 and is accompanied by a handwritten LOA directly to our consignor from the promoter who personally worked with Maris (Lou Avon, who also arranged for the signing of the famous 115 limited-edition Mantle-Maris commemorative bats.) In fact, based on the timing, this ball was likely signed at the very same signing session as the bats. Maris single-signed balls remain among the most desirable of all non-Hall of Famer signed balls and are a requisite for many different types of collections. Few Maris signed items, let alone balls, are accompanied by such ideal provenance. The ball displays light scattered age toning and is otherwise in Near Mint condition. LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$1,500. SOLD FOR $4,406.25
