Spectacular 16 x 20-inch color photograph of Mickey Mantle, taken by renowned sports photographer Neil Leifer, flawlessly signed ("10") by both Mantle and Leifer in black Sharpie in the lower margin. This particular photo, which is a special limited edition, is hand numbered "428/500" and was signed by Mantle for Upper Deck Authenticated. It is accompanied by both a certificate of authenticity from the company as well as a corresponding hologram label attached to the base of the photo. The Upper Deck limited-edition signed Mantle display photographs by Leifer are quietly being recognized by sophisticated collectors as the finest and highest-quality series of signed Mantle display pieces ever created. Only five hundred (plus ten artist proofs) of each of three different photos of Mantle by Leifer were created and signed for Upper Deck. Neil Leifer is regarded by many as being the finest sports photographers of his era. He was also one of the most prolific. Between the years 1972 and 1990 his photos appeared on more than 200 Sports Illustrated , Time , and People covers. His best-known photo, of Muhammad Ali defiantly standing over Sonny Liston after their second title fight, is considered by many to be the single greatest sports photograph of all time.
