New York Yankees Single-Signed Baseball Collection with Steinbrenner, DiMaggio, Mantle, and Jeter (66)
Starting Bid - $500.00 , Sold For - $3,525.00
All of the players featured in this single-signed ball collection have one thing in common: they all played, managed, or coached for the New York Yankees during some point in their respective careers. Included here among these sixty-six single-signed balls are eleven Hall of Famers as well as many of the team's top stars from the 1950s through the 1990s. Also featured is a rare George Steinbrenner single-signed ball and a team-signed ball from the 1998 World Championship season. All of the balls are either Official American or National League balls (production date of each between 1970 and 1999) and have been signed in blue or black ink across the sweet spot. Signatures range from "7" to "10," with the vast majority grading "9/10." The number of balls for each player, if more than one, is noted in parentheses. Hall of Fame Yankees (11): Berra, Boggs, DiMaggio (2), Ford, Gossage, Hunter, R. Jackson, Mantle, Rizzuto, and Winfield. Pre-1970 Yankees Stars (25): Stottlemyre, Kubek, Shantz, Terry, Byrne, Pepitone, Sain, Turley, Linz, Larsen (2), Duren, Blanchard, Woodling, Henrich, Coleman, McDougald, Boyer, Tresh, Crosetti, Skowron, Bouton, Downing, Richardson, and Carey. Post-1970s Yankees Stars (29): Jeter, A. Rodriguez, Torre, Rivera (2), O'Neill, Cone, Murcer, Guidry (2), Mussina, Irabu, R. Henderson, Randolph, Clemens (2), Fielder, Mattingly, B. Approximately fifty percent of the balls display light age toning; otherwise the collection is in Near Mint condition. LOA from James Spence/JSA.
