1925 Pittsburgh Pirates Pennant
Starting Bid - $300.00 , Sold For - $822.50
Rare baseball pennant commemorating the Pittsburgh Pirates World Championship season of 1925. All graphically designed baseball pennants from the 1920s are rare, especially those dating from a specific year with the date as part of the design. The black-felt pennant displays a large illustration of a baseball, within which is featured a generic image of a baseball player in a batting pose. "Champions" and "1925" are lettered in white, respectively, above and below the ball. The team name, "Pittsburgh," appears to the right of the ball in orange lettering. The pennant (24 inches in length) displays light crazing to painted images and letters, standard for pennants of this style, as well as a few very minor edge tears. The end tassels have been removed. Although technically in Very Good condition, all of the colors remain bright and vibrant, and the pennant displays magnificently as Excellent. Mounted and framed to 34 inches in length. Reserve $300. Estimate $500+. SOLD FOR $822.50
