Babe Ruth was the greatest sports personality of the twentieth century, so it's no wonder that he was the subject of countless books and periodicals over the years. Offered here is a group of popular titles, most of which feature Ruth on the cover, that would be ideal as part of a larger very substantial Ruth collection, or could serve as the foundation of a collection unto themselves. 1) Smitty at the Ball Game by Walter Berndt (cartoonist). 1929, Cupples and Leon Co., New York. Hardcover book with original dustjacket. Both the dustjacket and book cover feature the same illustrated image of Ruth. Inscribed by a former owner on the front flyleaf.
