1924-1933 Washington Senators World Series Press Pin Collection (3)
Starting Bid - $500.00 , Sold For - $4,406.25
In describing the Washington Senators, Charley Dryden, sports editor of the San Francisco Chronicle , once wrote, “Washington--first in war, first in peace, last in the American League.” Although that line was probably applicable in most years, it wasn’t entirely accurate. The Senators did finish first in the American League on three occasions . Offered here is tangible proof of the club’s three pennant-winning seasons: Washington Senators World Series press pins from 1924, 1925, and 1933. The particulary rare 1924 and 1925 pins are both in outstanding Near Mint condition; the 1933 pin displays light surface tarnish and is in Excellent to Mint condition. All three pins have been manufactured by Dieges & Clust, feature a threaded-post back, and are complete with original clasps as issued. Total: 3 pins. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$2,000. SOLD FOR $4,406.25
