1903 E107 Breisch-Williams Pop Dillon
Starting Bid - $300.00 , Sold For - $1,527.50
Graded POOR 10 by SGC. E107 of Detroit Tigers’ first baseman Pop Dillon. On opening day of the American League’s first season (4/25/01), Dillon led the Tigers to their first victory by becoming the first American League batter to hit four doubles in one game. It is interesting to note that Dillon's career spanned the years from 1899 to 1904, but skipped 1903. He was not on any Major League roster in 1903, and was with Detroit (the team on which he appears on this card) for just a portion of the 1902 season. Presentable low-grade example from one of card collecting's rarest and most highly prized early twentieth-century card issues. Reserve $300. Estimate $500+. SOLD FOR $1,527.50
