1909-1911 T206 White Border Kid Elberfeld "Broad Leaf 460" Back PSA EX-MT 6

Starting Bid - $1,000.00 , Sold For - $7,637.50

Graded EX-MT 6 by PSA. Highest PSA-graded example. Presented is an example of one of the rarest of all T206 advertising reverses: the Broad Leaf 460 series. Broad Leaf 460 Series backs are one of the key rarities to any complete T206 advertising back collection, far rarer even than Uzit and Drum backs. They are virtually nonexistent. The obverse of this card features Kid Elberfeld in a fielding pose. The reverse is perfectly bright and clean, with a boldly printed Broad Leaf 460 advertisement set against a striking off-white background. The side borders on this card are without question very narrow. In our opinion, this card has been very slightly trimmed, though someone else could have a different opinion. Whether this card belongs in a PSA 6 holder (as purchased by our consignor, and resent to PSA for a second review for confirmation) or an "Authentic" holder as we believe, this is still an extraordinary card that is worthy of the most advanced T206 or rare sample-card collection. This is the first Broad Leaf 460 we have handled in any condition in years. There has always been great interest in rare T206 advertising backs, and in recent years we have seen more collectors assembling T206 back collections than ever before. The Broad Leaf 460 back is one of the extreme rarities that keeps just about every collection from completion. The fact that the advertising reverse is so crisp and clean makes this a particularly exceptional example to represent this almost-never-seen T206 advertising back, missing from virtually every T206 advertising-back collection. Reserve $1,000. Estimate (open).
