1909-1911 T206 White Border Collection (52)
Starting Bid - $200.00 , Sold For - $1,410.00
Collection of fifty-one different T206 White Borders ranging in grade from Pr to Gd-Vg (mostly Fr-Gd), including eight Hall of Famers and a Black Sox member. Includes: Bresnahan/port. (Gd-Vg), Bresnahan/bat (Gd-Vg), Chance/yellow (Gd), two Chase/blue (both Vg), two Chase/dark cap (Gd and Fr), Evers/Cubs (Pr), two Gandil ("Black Sox", Gd and Pr), Griffith/port. (Pr), McGraw/cap (Gd-Vg), Willis/bat (Vg), and Young/bare hand (Pr). This is a neat group of cards from "the olden days," a little rough but still very collectible, and ideal for the collector who does not want to spend a fortune, but wants real, original circa 1910 tobacco cards which capture the spirit and the history of the game and collecting. We enjoy offering low-grade groups like these because they make the collecting of the most classic baseball card issues possible and more accessible to a wider audience. The backs are almost all Sweet Caporal and Piedmont, but also included is a Cycle back. Also included is a 1914 T222 Fatima of Hall of Famer Rube Marquard in Good condition. Total 52 cards (51 T206 White Borders and one T222 Fatima). Reserve $200. Estimate $400/$800. SOLD FOR $1,410.00
