1910 PC796 Sepia Postcard Walter Johnson

Starting Bid - $200.00 , Sold For - $1,645.00

Graded GOOD 30 by SGC. Magnificent example of Hall of Fame pitcher Walter Johnson from the rare and highly regarded PC796 sepia postcard set issued in 1910. The manufacturer of this sepia-toned postcard series is unknown. The PC796 set is one of the most striking sets of the era. The card is bright and clean, both front and back, with a few very surface creases (not easily seen but they are there if you are carefully looking for them), and even corner wear. The card has never been mailed and has no writing on its traditional postcard reverse. This is a very attractive and an exceptionally rare card of one of the era's most legendary stars. Dimensions: 3.5 x 5.5 inches. Reserve $200. Estimate $400/$600. SOLD FOR $1,645.00
