1909-1911 T206 Ray Demmitt - St. Louis Americans Variation

Starting Bid - $500.00 , Sold For - $1,997.50

Graded GOOD 2 by PSA. Very pleasing example of the rare Demmitt, St. Louis Americans T206 variation. Polar Bear was the only company to issue this T206 variation, thus no doubt contributing to its significant rarity. T206 cards issued with Polar Bear tobacco were not well protected from the accompanying product, thus almost all Demmitts have significant condition problems, including at least some tobacco staining. This example has no creases and a perfectly clean reverse with no staining, excellent centering, and fresh colors, but does have general surface wear and rounded corners. This is a very attractive technically low-grade example of one of the rarest and most condition-sensitive cards in the classic T206 White Border set. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$1,500. SOLD FOR $1,997.50
