1910 D380 Clement Bros. Bread SGC-Graded Collection (8)

Starting Bid - $2,500.00 , Sold For - $9,987.50

Collection of eight different D380 Clement Bros. Bread cards featuring Rochester (Eastern League) players, each graded by SGC: Alperman (GOOD 30), Blair (GOOD 30), Lagoe (newly discovered, VG 40), McConnell (GOOD 30), Osborn (FAIR 20), Pattee (POOR 10), Ragan (VG 40), and Tooley (VG 40). This early bakery series was regionally issued only in the Rochester, New York, area circa 1910. The set is so rare that with few exceptions it is not on the radar of even the most advanced collectors. They were issued one card per loaf of bread, and measure 1.5 x 2.75 inches. The reverse of each card features advertising for Clement Bros. bakery's bread and pies. This group represents eight of an extraordinary collection of thirty-six Clement Bros. bread cards which were saved for decades by the Rochester family of the original owner. This is the largest find of these rare bakery cards in the history of collecting to the best of our knowledge. All thirty-six D380 Clement Bros. Bread cards from the find are presented in this auction. This is an exceptional collection of eight cards from this significant find. Total 8 cards. Reserve $2,500. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $9,987.50
